Healthe Care Australia’s growth story continues with acquisition of Pulse Health

SHANGHAI, 19 May 2017 – Australia’s 3rd largest corporate private hospital operator Healthe Care Australia (HCA), a subsidiary of Luye Medical, confirmed the acquisition of Pulse Health (Pulse) in a deal valued at approximately A$155 million. The Pulse acquisition provides HCA with an additional growth level to further expand, while cementing Luye Medical’s position as a leading pan-Asian health care services group.

Headquartered in Sydney, Pulse is a leading operator of specialist private hospitals operating 8 hospitals and 5 day surgeries across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and New Zealand. Pulse partners with local specialist doctors to provide high quality specialist care for local patients. The Pulse hospital portfolio complements HCA’s existing portfolio both geographically and in terms of service profile, to deliver value-based high quality care outcomes for a broader group of patients.

HCA currently employs approximately 7,000 people and operates a portfolio of 34 hospitals and 2,500 beds located in major cities and key regional areas in Australia and New Zealand. HCA has adopted a multidisciplinary approach to health care offering a range of inpatient, outpatient and community based health care services while redeveloping its facilities to sustain this approach. Key therapeutic focuses include orthopedics, cardiovascular, psychiatry, oncology, rehabilitation, obstetrics and general medicine. HCA’s facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic technologies and devices, as well as doctors and healthcare professionals, providing day and overnight surgeries. And they also offer innovative treatments in the areas of orthopedics, mental health and rehabilitation to postoperative, injured, cardiovascular and stroke patients.

Luye Medical Group CEO Charles Wang quoted “The acquisition of Pulse will bolster HCA’s position as one of the leading private hospital groups in Australia, and also create a strong platform for future growth in New Zealand. The newly acquired hospitals provide the Group with a platform to grow its day surgery and gain market share in the rapidly growing day surgery market. Luye Medical will continue to seek out every opportunity to meet the diverse healthcare needs of our patients through high-quality value-based care.”
